Wit and Wisdom for a One Party State

A handbook for government by wishful thinking

Islamofascism, n. An amalgam of religion and meaningless expletive, bound together with the "o" from "veg-o-matic". Originally coined by Communists in their struggle to explain the indifference of Muslims to the self-evident charms of Communism, this word tends to evoke hysteria in the listener, whether as an insult to Islam, as an insult to the English language, or as a humiliating reminder of things that are foreign and hard to pronounce.

Islamofascism, n. An amalgam of religion and and a combination of religion and the state in which the ultimate goal is domination of all cultures via dhimitude (submission) or death. The islamofascist does not contenance any other choice.

Thank you so much for this contribution, which shows promise of greater things to come despite multiple grammatical errors and the misspelling of the word "countenance".

Amerofascism, n. An amalgam of christianity and and a combination of christianity and the state in which the ultimate goal is domination of all cultures via dhimmitude (submission) or death. The Amerofascist does not contenance any other choice.

Works just as well, doncha think? As does:

Australofascism, n. An amalgam of christianity and and a combination of christianity and the state in which the ultimate goal is domination of all cultures via dhimmitude (submission) or death. The Australofascist does not contenance any other choice.

And

Anglofascism, n. An amalgam of christianity and and a combination of christianity and the state in which the ultimate goal is domination of all cultures via dhimmitude (submission) or death. The Anglofascist does not contenance any other choice.

This proves how useless and meaningless the original phrase is. An empty phrase designed to incite fear, hatred and to dehumanize the others, nothing else.

What does any of this have to do with fascism?

New candidates for inclusion in Wit and Wisdom for a One Party State are always welcome, and I thank you for offering these.

However, as you will be aware, words must achieve a certain degree of common usage before they can be included in a standard reference of this kind. Meticulous comparative study by our research staff has shown that, as of this writing, none of your three offerings (Amerofascism, Australofascism and Anglofascism) has yet achieved the spectacular degree of frenzied replication that is exhibited by the headline entry. The most popular is "Anglofascism", which boasts only four instances over a five year period, including a proposal for deletion from the Wikipedia.

As for the others, "Australofascism" appears to be your own invention, with zero instances on the World Wide Web; and "Amerofascism" occurs only on the Little Green Footballs website, which raises grave doubts about whether, if it is indeed a word, it should be considered part of the English language.

For these reasons, I have concluded that it would not be appropriate to include your proposed entries in Wit and Wisdom for a One Party State at this time. Circumstances may change, of course, and in any event I do encourage you to make further submissions in future if you identify other terms that you feel require redefinition.
